Hall of Famer Chris Bosh interested in coaching, front office roles

Chris Bosh's induction into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame is, of course, a great way to cap off an accomplished, albeit shortened, career. The former Miami Heat and Toronto Raptors forward doesn't want that to be the end of his tenure in the basketball world.

Bosh, whose career ended abruptly in 2016 because of reoccurring blood clots, told Ira Winderman of the South Florida Sun Sentinel he's still trying to find his next role in the NBA — possibly even as a coach.

"I don’t want to put any closure on it," said the two-time NBA Finals champion and Olympic gold medalist. "Some sort of front-office or coaching situation. I don’t want to throw dirt on it and say, 'That’s it.'"

The 37-year-old Dallas native held out hope for a few years a team would ask him to come back and play, but his health prognosis — a blood clot found in his lung in 2015 and another in his calf in 2016 — scared away any suitors. 

Bosh has kept himself busy by getting involved in esports and starting his own hip hop record label, and he has stayed close to basketball by appearing on sports talk shows and traveling to Africa to coach in the Basketball Without Borders program.

It appears, however, that the NBA court still calls to him.
