What Should Raiders Expect from Dylan Parham This Year?
USA TODAY Sports

The Las Vegas Raiders are headed into the summer with an improved roster and aspirations of returning to the playoffs.

One element they know they need to improve is keeping new quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo upright. Last year, the Raiders were 26th in the NFL in pass blocking efficiency, something that has to get better against the tough pass rushers of the AFC West.

The Raiders look like they’re going to run it back with the same offensive line unit as last season, the most common grouping being Kolton Miller, Dylan Parham, Andre James, Alex Bars, and Jermaine Eluemunor.

Parham is a player who, if he makes a jump in his second year in the league, could bolster this position group greatly. He was a third-round pick in the 2022 NFL Draft out of Memphis and was the Raiders’ first pick in that draft class.

Parham, according to Pro Football Focus, played 1,036 snaps, committed five penalties and allowed six sacks. He played a majority of his snaps at left guard and was much better as a run blocker than a pass blocker.

Parham has a lot of talent, but also a lot of room to grow after his rookie season. Along with allowing six sacks, he allowed nine QB hits and 55 total pressures.

It takes time for some offensive linemen to develop into good players in the NFL. For Parham, a player with the ideal size and athleticism for the position, the Raiders could be surprised by a second year jump.
